Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Lead Carpenters in measuring, cutting, and shaping materials, with an emphasis on accessibility features.
- Help with the assembly and installation of structures and fixtures, such as cabinets, doors, windows, and accessibility modifications.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Operate hand and power tools under supervision and with on-the-job training.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, learning to understand client needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some training or experience with power and hand tools is preferred but not required.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
- Interest in learning about home remodeling, home accessibility, standards and modifications.
