DeVol Design Build Remodel did an outstanding job on our hall bathroom, master bathroom, and walk-in closet remodel. They worked closely with Annie Miller Designs, who created a beautiful design, and the DeVol team of craftsmen made the spaces come to life. Jeff did a great job of communication with us regarding who would be working and what was planned for the week. Jeff’s team was always on time and very focused on creating a quality product. Every person that contributed to our project was highly skilled and trustworthy. The project was completed within the time frame and for the price quoted. Our project involved the remodeling of most rooms in our home including a complete remodel of the kitchen/family room and back hall/powder room and primary bath. Mike, our project manager, listened to the wants and needs for our project, developed a complete design with plans and a schedule of each phase of the project. Mike provided careful guidance to keep our decisions within our budget and was readily available anytime we had questions or concerns. Most days he was present on the job to ensure smooth transitions every step of the way. Additionally, because we lived in our home during this extensive renovation, all of the DeVol staff and regular subcontractors were very respectful of our home and tried to be conscientious of our personal space. We were always given plenty of warning on days where major disruption would happen, so we could plan accordingly. I especially want to recognize Scott and Troy for their outstanding building knowledge and expertise. They amazed me with their precision in everything they did. They were also very helpful, respectful and kind. Plus, our dog will miss them greatly, as he would whine for them to love on him everyday they were at our home. Also, I want to mention that there were no excuses when something wasn’t right…they just made the situation right. We are thrilled with our “new” home and will love it for many years. I think the DeVol firm genuinely cared about the product, the process and us in our renovation. Mike, Scott, Troy and all the additional staff members and subcontractors that helped on our project were not only hard workers, but good people to have in your home. Mike Hoffer23 April 2026We hired Devol DBR for a major home remodel and had a great experience from start to finish. They combined two small bathrooms and a closet into one large, beautiful bathroom, fixed concrete slab settlement issues, and remodeled our entryway, laundry room, garage, and powder room. They also made a big improvement to our lighting throughout the house. The team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. Any issues that came up were handled quickly and without hassle. We’re very happy with the results and would definitely recommend Devol DBR to anyone looking for a reliable remodeling contractor.Posted on Google
Randy12 April 2026We had a major renovation that included all new hardwood floors, combining two bedrooms into one, and three bathrooms remodeled. We worked mostly with Mike Henson but the entire Devol team were very easy to work with. We had open communication throughout the process. The entire team including sub-contractors took care of the smallest detail to ensure we were happy with their work. Devol went above and beyond throughout the process. Also, a bonus for us - they were all animal lovers and were great with our husky even when we weren’t home. We love our ‘new’ 100 year old home. Cole Carothers21 August 2025We hired DeVol Design Build Remodel to construct a first floor addition to our 170 year old home. The plan required removing a substantial black walnut tree, filling a century old cistern, excavating for a poured concrete foundation, additional electric wiring, tying in Hvac, and creating a master suite, powder room, and master bath. It was a lengthy process due mostly to a mid-autumn start, holidays, bitter cold, rain and snow. And like in dominos, one delay affected whatever followed. Despite the delays, the DeVol team was professional, communicative, and always considerate. The quality of their work is excellent. No cutting corners, or excuses. One supplier provided a mismatched batch of white penny tile that was only discovered after it had been set. No problem, the floor was done again ASAP. DeVol and their coordination with sub-contractors completed all aspects of the addition with care, quality materials and superior craftsmanship. In sum, we are pleased with the results and have no reservations in our recommendation of their services.Posted on Google

He helped to make our dream a reality with a full kitchen remodel, laundry room move, mudroom and pantry, etc. His guys are all experts in their fields, show up consistently, and CLEAN UP before they leave every day. The finishes are perfect. I honestly cannot imagine someone doing a better, more professional job. Beautiful new kitchen and bath I am thrilled with the results of a recent kitchen and bath renovation done by DeVol Designs. It was a pleasure working with Jeff and his team of skilled craftsmen. They kept me informed, had excellent suggestions and the results are better than I could have imagined. I am 80 years old. Kevin Grubb12 July 2024We recently had our Kitchen remodeled (knocked out walls, removed dining room, re-did layout) and DeVol Design Build Remodel was top-notch from quote to finalizing the punch-list. Jeff, the owner, is very hands on and communicated with us on a daily basis: what the plan was, timing, who was going to be in our home, what they were planning to do, etc. He was honest, creative, and diligent with all matters. His crew, as well as his subcontractors, were very responsible and considerate of our home and the space around the working area. Having a designer as part of his process was also a tremendous help and a welcomed touch for selections and layout of the new design. Their pricing, albeit not the cheapest, was fair and accurate and did not change throughout the process. You get what you pay for - and they were worth every penny. Their initial timeline for completion (9 weeks) was accurate and they finished on-time. Our family is thrilled with the outcome. We can't say enough good things about this organization. Patrick Clements15 February 2024We had a terrific experience with DeVol in completing a total renovation of our kitchen, installation of continuous flooring on our first floor, Installation of a 2nd floor HVAC system, fixing our front porch, and completing aesthetic repairs to the exterior of our 100yr old home in Hyde Park, Cincinnati. The DeVol Team was extremely open and collaborative during the planning phase. They did a great job of coordinating efforts with Brian Schwieterman (ESM Architects) and Annie Miller (Annie Miller Design). This trio of companies worked great together and produced a terrific result. During project execution, DeVol provided clear timelines and made many accommodations for us to live on-site during most of the project. As we age, I want our home to be safe for us, and functional regardless of age or ability, so we won't need to leave it. I had priorities that were non-negotiable. As all of my family are immunocompromised or at risk, everyone who comes in our home must be masked at all times. I wanted the lowest maintenance materials and design possible, as I am beyond done with cleaning grout. I was surprised that those two things were too much to ask for some companies I spoke with. Mike and Kelly worked with us on every bit of it, and made sure we were happy with every aspect, from the big issues like layout of the bathrooms, to the fidgety stuff like fixtures and colors. Scott and his team were fabulous. They were very respectful, and wore a mask indoors 100% of the time, so we felt safe with them. They made sure to get our input so that everything from grab bars to sink and mirror placement were just right. Every time an issue came up, which is inevitable in an old house, they solved it with zero fuss. They were careful around the basement waterproofing we had just had done. They paid attention to every detail. They made sure to clean up every day before they left, and hauled away the trash. Mike and Scott and Kelly all communicated in a timely manner, and always kept us up to date on expectations - whether it was ETA on delivery of materials or the timeline of work. We could not be happier with their work! I recommend them wholeheartedly, with NO reservations. Amy Castellini11 November 2023As our daughter was getting older and it became more difficult for me to lift her, we started to focus on looking for houses that would accommodate her life, as time went on. After looking at many houses, it became apparent that we were never going to find exactly what we were looking for. We decided that the best step would be to redo our existing house to accommodate the needs of our daughter now and for the future, so that we could always keep her at home with us. Thankfully, we stumbled upon the DeVol Design Build Remodel from an email from Mike on LinkedIn. Needless to say, they were amazing to work with! Not only did they accommodate all our current needs, but they were also awesome in providing us with ideas and suggestions, knowing what the future may hold. They thought of things that we never have even thought of down… to every single detail. We were able to get an amazing one-off bathtub, elevator and help with overhead lift systems for each floor. We are so thankful for all the work that they did, helping us to keep it within our budget, even when we kept adding things on that were nice to have more than just the needs. The finished product is absolutely what we were looking for and then some! We have all the space we need, giving us the ability to move our daughter around in the house, the bathroom and all over! We converted a garage into a kitchen- dining room and added a new stair tower. The house was transformed from a cramped, compartmentalized 1970 transitional to a modern, open and spacious space with sight lines to multiple rooms from every room. The remodel has aged well! A testament to the quality of the workmanship. Devol was very conscientious about communicating expectations and ensuring I was comfortable during this major overall. 15 years later and I am stilled thrilled by the results. My only regret was not hiring Devol sooner, so that I would have had more years of truly enjoying my home.Posted on Google
John Reifenberger12 July 2023Over the last three years my wife and I realized that steps are becoming less appealing with the everyday movement in our two-story home. We looked at one story houses, but none could match the location, yard, or first floor open space living that we already had. We reached out to DeVol Design, Build, Remodel to get some ideas of how we could add a first-floor suite that could meet our future needs. In our first meeting DeVol started checking all of the boxes to deliver what we wanted. From the architects, design teams, project manager, and construction crews the attention to details and quality was impressive. The flow into the bedroom addition, walk in closet, and on-suite bathroom is perfect for walkers and wheelchairs if ever needed. The craftmanship of everyone involved exceeded our expectations, and friends and family that visit all remark on how beautiful and functional the on-suite bathroom is. Robin O’Neal9 May 2023We brought DeVol Design in to complete the necessary remodeling to make our new home Handicap Accessible for my mother who has Parkinson's Disease and is wheelchair bound. We needed the work done quickly and had a challenging set of circumstances as the contractor originally hired to complete the job had failed miserably, making it impossible for my mother to move in on the date anticipated. DeVol Design showed up, offered clear communication and expectations and began work promptly, always professional, always on time, always surpassing expectations. The team went above and beyond, helping to clear the mess the prior contractor left and working with us to schedule the necessary work around my mother's challenges. They made an extra special effort to complete my room remodeling of our living room into a bedroom and handicap designed bathroom and sink area to accommodate my needs and my power wheelchair in less than 2 months knowing how quickly my body was failing me since my original bedroom was on the second floor of our home. They set proper expectations in terms of DeVol's ability to handle a project of our scope, the conversations about the budgeting process from the first meeting all the way through the projects was very thorough. The highly skilled craftsmen and women were very respectful of our living arrangements (They remodeled the 1st and 2nd floors completely). The attention to even the smallest detail was exceptional. Communication between everyone was heartwarming to put it mildly. We are living in an eighties home with all of the features of a new home. Even our dog was sad to see them leave. Not only is it clear that they take pride in doing quality work, but they care about doing right by the homeowner. They even called out an HVAC issue which was not part of their scope and made sure the HVAC contractor corrected that issue properly.
