This Indian Hill renovation transformed two long-standing bathroom spaces into updated, elegant rooms that better fit the home and the homeowner’s daily life. Completed in partnership with Annie Miller, the project included a refined first-floor powder room and a major second-floor bathroom renovation.
The home had been lived in and loved for nearly 50 years, but the bathrooms were severely outdated. Both spaces still had old wallpaper, dated finishes, limited lighting, and layouts that no longer served the homeowner well. Rather than simply cover over the existing surfaces, the renovation team removed the original drywall with the wallpaper attached, giving the project a clean foundation for a true transformation.

Powder Room Renovation
The first-floor powder room was updated from a 50-year-old space into a more elegant, traditional-style bathroom. The goal was not to make it feel trendy or disconnected from the home, but to elevate it with a timeless, luxurious feel.
The finished powder room features a soft wall color, bright white trim, a classic vanity, updated lighting, polished fixtures, and a cleaner overall layout. The result is a warm, refined bathroom that feels appropriate to the home while offering a much more finished and comfortable guest experience.
Second-Floor Bathroom Transformation
The larger transformation took place on the second floor. What had previously been two small bathroom areas and a small hall closet was fully reimagined into one large, proper primary-style bathroom. Although it serves as a guest bathroom, it also functions as the home’s master bath, so the layout, storage, lighting, and comfort were all major priorities.
The original bathroom was poorly lit, outdated, and inefficient. By combining the small rooms and reclaiming the closet space, the renovation created a much more open and functional bathroom with a spacious feel. The new design introduced abundant natural light, a large glass shower, bright tile, improved storage, and a cleaner, more elegant layout.
The finished bathroom now includes a striking blue wall color, white tile, a large walk-in shower with glass enclosure, chrome fixtures, generous vanity storage, and a bright, open atmosphere. The space feels dramatically different from the original: lighter, more usable, more beautiful, and much better suited to the homeowner’s needs.
Design and Client Experience
One of the biggest challenges was helping the homeowner understand the design possibilities. After living with the same bathrooms for so long, it was important to build trust, explain options clearly, and help her feel confident throughout the renovation process.
The project required more than construction skill. It required guidance, communication, patience, and a team the homeowner could trust inside her home. That trust became a key part of the project’s success.
By the end, the homeowner was thrilled with both the craftsmanship and the finished spaces. She specifically praised the quality of the work, the skill of the renovation team, and the level of finish throughout the project.
