Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Carpenter to join our team. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for leading and supervising carpentry projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with our clients, project managers, and team members to deliver exceptional results, with a focus on remodeling and accessibility modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise field carpenters, unskilled and semi-skilled workers, and subcontractors on remodeling projects, with a focus on kitchen, bathroom, home additions and accessibility remodeling.
- Ensure all projects are completed on schedule and within budget, adhering to our high-quality standards.
- Assign and explain tasks to the project team, providing guidance and support as needed, especially in accessibility features.
- Respond to clients’ requests for emergency repairs and address any issues promptly, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Regularly inspect work done by the project team to ensure it meets our quality standards and specifications, particularly for accessibility and safety.
- Assist in maintaining scheduled work to meet deadlines, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Verify material lead times and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery, especially for specialized accessibility materials.
- Communicate daily with the Production Manager about project progress, including any challenges or delays related to accessibility features.
- Supervise the activities of field carpenters and subcontractors, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to building codes, particularly those related to accessibility.
- Work with the Production Manager to track project progress and profitability.
- Maintain a professional appearance and ensure the job site reflects our company’s standards, promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a carpenter, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role, preferably in remodeling. Experience in accessibility a plus.
- Proven and documented experience in residential remodeling.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams and interact with clients.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship, especially in creating functional spaces.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing client needs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
